About Me.
Hello! My name is Ashten Besler. I am a recent graduate of GNOMON who specializes in visual effects and compositing. I am steadfast, quick on my feet and fast to adapt in situations, possessing an immense creative capacity that continues to surpass my own current limitations as I continue to learn and grow.
Originating from the Midwestern state of Iowa, I have always had a passion for film making and story telling. I fell in love with the behind the scenes of every film I watched, and found interest in the visual effects associated with them. My journey into 3D began as a young teen, learning whatever software I could get my hands on, becoming an avid blender user.
Eventually, that lead me to Los Angeles, where I enrolled and learned at GNOMON, gaining industry standard knowledge. My dream is to bring together beautify imagery and heartfelt stories together to instill a sense of wonder and amazement, just as the ones before me have done throughout my own childhood.

Bachelors in Fine Arts Degree in Digital Production specializing in VFX and Film from GNOMON: School of Visual Effects, Games, and Animation, located in Los Angeles, CA.
Program Experience
Throughout my years at gnomon, I have gained experience in 3d programs such as Maya and Houdini; compositing programs such as Nuke and foundry packages as well as various adobe products including After Effects; the sculpting package Zbrush; and various digital painting software for both 2d and 3d art. I strive to further my skills in the professional industry as a VFX artist and Compositor.
